We're glad you asked. To be clear - our BBQ gloves are not 100% fire retardant or 'fire-proof'! We use fire retardant materials, so you can handle hot or burning objects when wearing them, but only for a limited time. We recommend handling hot objects for no more than 10 seconds at a time.

We rigorously test all our products to ensure they meet the relevant industry's safety standards and so far we've passed with flying colours so you can buy with absolute confidence. Here's a brief rundown:  FIRE SLAP BBQ & WET GLOVES: Tested to EN standard 407:2004 - Protective Gloves Against Thermal Risk (Heat or Fire). We're required to test contact heat, conducive heat, radiant heat - even contact with molten metal. THERMOMETERS: EN Regulation 1935/2004 - Food Contact Materials. Testing the functionality of all materials, as well as purity of metals and plastics to ensure no contamination to food.  MEAT CLAWS: US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) 21 CFR 177.1580; EN 1186-1:2002; EN 1186-3:2002. Similar to our thermometers, ensuring purity of the materials we're using, and that there's no contamination of food.

Sure is. All our products are covered by a 12 month limited warranty. If your thermometer won't turn on, or your BBQ gloves suddenly disintegrate before your very eyes, we want to know about it!  Now keep in mind, there's a limit to what we'll cover (hence the term 'limited warranty').  Fire Slap accepts no responsibility for your own stupidity. If you jammed your thermometer into an esky of melted ice, or decided to hold a burning log in your gloved hand for 1 minute and ruin your BBQ gloves (and your hand), there's not much we can do. We do all we can to ensure that the manufacture quality and function of our products are top notch, but unfortunately can't replace damaged gear if you didn't use it properly.
